CVE-2009-3233 – Quoting Fehler in changetrack
Das Programm changetrack filtert Shell Metazeichen und CRLF Sequenzen
nicht aus den zu ueberpruefenden Dateinamen heraus. Ein lokaler
Angreifer kann diese Schwachstelle dazu ausnutzen, beliebigen Code mit
den Rechten des changetrack Benutzers auszufuehren (i.d.R. root),
indem er Dateien mit entsprechend aufgebautem Namen in einem
Verzeichnis ablegt, das von changetrack ueberprueft wird.
Betroffen sind die folgenden Software Pakete und Plattformen:
Paket changetrack in der stable Distribution (lenny) vor Version
4.3-3+lenny1
Paket changetrack in der old stable Distribution (etch) vor Version
4.3-3+etch1
Paket changetrack in der unstable Distribution (sid) vor Version 4.5-2
Fuer die testing Distribution (squeeze) werden geeignete Patches
nachgereicht.

Debian Bug : 546791
Marek Grzybowski discovered that changetrack, a program to monitor
changes to (configuration) files, is prone to shell command injection
via metacharacters in filenames. The behaviour of the program has been
adjusted to reject all filenames with metacharacters.
For the stable distribution (lenny), this problem has been fixed in
version 4.3-3+lenny1.
For the oldstable distribution (etch), this problem has been fixed in
version 4.3-3+etch1.
For the testing distribution (squeeze), this problem will be fixed soon.
For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem has been fixed in
version 4.5-2.
We recommend that you upgrade your changetrack packages.
Upgrade instructions

will fetch the file for you
dpkg -i file.deb
will install the referenced file.
If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
sources.list as given below:
apt-get update
will update the internal database
apt-get upgrade
will install corrected packages
You may use an automated update by adding the resources from the
footer to the proper configuration.
